Well, some of that was unexpected. (And why yes, I am feeling ill and so watching TV, why do you ask?)
I liked the three month jump, I assume that was matched with holiday break. The return of Evil Adelle is nice, and does gray her up nicely. She may break Topher after all. Rossum seems clearly to be going for the wipe anyone tech that destroys the world, and I presume they mean for it to be "claim any body you want if you have enough money".
I think this does sort of lean to the "Rossum isn't the bad guys" idea. Someone decides to go haywire with the tech. Someone decides to destroy all concept of identity in the world. It still could be Alpha, but I suspect it is someone else. Someone is going to protest what Rossum is doing in the worst possible way, and spiral it all out of control. (Unless it is just someone thinks to make an instant army and screws up the print.)
As for our Love episode. Eh. I like Alpha back as a Beau Brummel Baby, but Ballard still bores me. "Why does he get to be your honey", indeed. There's no pretending to DeWitt that Echo isn't an individual anymore, so does she sell them out to the higher ups, or does she keep that as an ace in her hand for later?
Alpha made a back up of Ballard's brain, so presumably they can reload it into him, which lets him be unsure of who he really is or if he has programming now, which lets us possibly get him turning on the rest of the cabal.
I think this last episode felt flat because the chemistry between Echo and Ballard is so weak.
