I am quite tired, so no elaborate moving stories. Those of you on facebook saw most of it in real time anyway.

+ The movers were prompt, efficient, and even a bit snarky.

- The place had not really been cleaned.

+ I inherited furniture and plates and wine glasses.

- It is possible it has bedbugs.

+ The Landlord already knew of the infestation next door and arranged to spray today. (Hoping to make it before I moved in, but that part didn`t work out.)

- Have to avoid the spray and so am crashing elsewhere.


So now I need to dig up the apartment planning software misskitty79 sent me and see if I can lay out my new digs some. Tomorrow will be the first real unpacking and moving of furniture.

The day did end on a good note, however, due to a phone call.

She: "Would you like to be our official photographer next season?"
Me: "Why yes, yes I would."

At the same time, there is a certain pleasure to the Tetrising of it all. (I could fit THAT in THERE and turn it like THIS -- PERFECT!)

Mind you, I am no Cairril, whose amazing Goaty Goodness as a Capricorn once found about 2 cubic meters more room in a duffel bag I was convinced had been stuffed to the brim. (I believe I still have that duffel bag.)

As most of you know, I am moving in a month. As an ex of mine once said, "Three moves are as good as a fire," and while that might be a touch exaggerated, it is always an opportunity to declutter somewhat. Since packing is inherently boring, so company is always welcome and the bait is a chance to pilfer things of mine you may covet. There is no better time to convince me to give you something than when I am dealing with the inconvenience of packing it, so anyone who wants to make a pitch for something might want to make their move now.

Oh, you'll probably get fed, too, you know.

So, seriously, no one I know has any knowledge of someone with a van or truck?

I want magic elves to come and help me clean.

I don't need all the clothes that are in my house. I've got some t-shirts that could go, as well as a few odds and ends - jackets, gloves, a number of 34C bras from Victoria's Secret - that should find a good home.

Looks like I will be leaving the 30th, and should have a "Say farewell and take the last stuff still not accounted for" party the 29th.

And so it ends.

I am leaving Boston.

Losing the lease on this place forced a decision and as long as I am packing everything up, maybe it is time to go back where I have a community, family and friends to support me while I figure out what to do next.

That being the case, I will be selling off just about everything I own in the next few weeks, since I need out of this place by the end of the month and most of it isn't worth shipping.

I'll start listing things more formally soon, but I have furniture and clothes and books and gadgets and electronics and kitchen items - all of which is pretty much up for grabs if you make an offer.

I work until Tuesday and then I will be free all days as I try to clean/pack/dump things. Anyone who wants to drop by and help or keep me company or pick through things are more than welcome to.
