Anyone read it yet? GRRM used up a goodly portion of the goodwill I had for him with A Feast for Crows, so I'm hoping to hear if it has a good vibe before I bother.

I liked it, but I mostly didn't mind AFFC, so take that for what it's worth.

Judging from my friend's review (I think still unpublished) it seems that if your issues with Crows was the pacing felt off and that it didn't advance, this will also annoy you. (But not as much.)

If your issue with Crows was "these aren't the characters I like following", it should be fine.

If you didn't have an issue with Crows, you should be fine. :)

I suspect I will either borrow a copy or wait for softcover.

On a different subject entirely, I wonder if maybe someone in a position of power at the BBC actually noted how poor a job Moffat is actually doing.

Tough call. It looks like the previous guy left for movies, so this might just be that. Don't know her rep, is she known for keeping problem people in line? Then I might buy it is specifically about performance.
