So did Moffat lose a bet with RTD and have to write an episode this sloppy and incoherent or is this just what we have to expect now?

I'm about ready to hit the panic button. It was a lot easier to ignore the now all-too-apparent fact that Moffat only has about three plot ideas back when he wrote only one script per season.

This is my creeping suspicion as well.

Although it is as much about the sloppy execution as the plots themselves.
