Transitory nature
Sep. 28th, 2009 09:18 amPublic transit in an unfamiliar city is always an interesting experience. Buses and metros have a rhythm, unique to each city, that lets you navigate them fluidly. When you don't know the beat, it takes a bit.
The fringes of Ottawa hold some crowded buses with a good mix of people and if I must be crushed in against someone in an overpacked bus, there are worse fates than a cute blonde who vaguely looks like she was going for the Paris Hilton look. (That was a LOT of makeup.)
I'm now tucked into a cafe on Bank street (which looks a lot like every other chain cafe in North America) and need to find a Royal Bank.
Seems internet connections are an hour only kind of thing, so I probably we only be around sporadically.
In the meantime, Roman Polanski has been arrested. Many are decrying the awful injustice of insisting a man who pled guilty to statuatory rape (for which he was sentenced to less than 2 months) and then ducked out on his sentence be forced to deal with the consequences of his action. Plus, he's a great artist and so therefore has The Asshole License.
As you might suspect, I disagree.
