One person actually managed a 3:33 am text. She gets a cookie.

I have so far received "adventurous", "sexy", "Paul Giamatti" (which seems to contradict the other two), and "Too cool for school" as messages today.

There was also an extended email thread at work involving disturbing My Little Pony pictures.

All in all, pretty good so far.

For those of you who are not facebook-compliant, I am trying to organize my month of birthday activities by way of a group I can pin events on.

I will relay them here, and anyone who wants to ping me to ask specifically for email notifications can.

So since my first plan of convincing SJ Tucker to do a house concert in Montreal on my birthday didn't happen, I have been lax about planning something for what is a milestone birthday if measured in base 10. Since I have the play pretty much right up to that weekend, that has complicated things.

Therefore, I decided I would do a series of smaller parties, celebrating the many facets of the universe I enjoy, and the friends who enjoy them with me over the course of May.

Some thoughts include:
- rent a private pool room and shoot some stick
- Fancy Dinner party/Wine tasting
- Something Art related. (A vernissage, perhaps?)
- Massive photoshoot/photowalk
- Something of Intense Geekiness.
- A symposium? (Old school. Drinks, food, and a subject of debate until Plato shows up and schools us all. Or something.)
- Other? (Picnic? Treasure hunt?

All suggestions welcome.

The Thunder is supposed to be done by Friday, and while I don't think Tam-tams really starts yet, but the weather is supposed to be cloudy but decent and I was thinking for my birthday proper I could perhaps throw down a quilt, bring some food, and whoever wants to hang out for a while would be free to do so?

The other option that occurred to me is to take in the tail end of this literary festival I had no idea was going on.

The rain kept many people away. Well, that and lucidite's party, I suspect.

Sultrysong took me to see Jesus Christ Superstar starring the guy who was Jesus in the movie back in 1973. The sound was off and you couldn't understand most of what anyone was saying. Jesus as an old man was kind of weird, especially since so much of the music involves him shrieking like early-70's rock so often does. He didn't have the chops for it and it was just weird.

I then went on to the Milton gates for Manhunt, which was rayaluna's idea. I was the first hunter, seeing as it was a birthday present. Running through the McGill ghetto was fun, as so many people were moving in and there was security everywhere due to the various anarchist demonstrations. There were two rounds, and it was nice to be chased.

I went back to E__'s to shower and change for the nature walk, and was greeted by Red Riding Hood, a Gypsy Fortuneteller, and a Vampirate who made me tea. We lost the Gypsy on the way to the park, and on the bus ride over, the other two succeeded in scandalizing the passengers. The Vampirate even had to confront a man who was trying to take pictures with his cellphone unasked.

At the mountain there was rum-in-tea, hiking in the dark, and finally a picnic on the rocks overlooking the city.

All in all, it aggressively failed to suck, even if there were some surprising lacunae in who showed and/or sent birthday wishes.

Life being what it is for me, and having nowhere to host a party for my birthday, I have decided to have a wandering party that intersects other events. Come when you can, stay as you wish! (No, I have no specific plans for 3:33AM May 1.)

On Saturday, May 1, I will be meandering the city, picking up people at events.

We start in the morning here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=407588205085

AT THE PALAIS DES CONGRÈS DE MONTRÉAL

COME AND SHOP TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV AND AIDS, AND HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET VALÉRIE SIMARD, SPOKESPERSON FOR THIS 25TH EDITION!

Twice a year, the Palais des Congrès de Montréal is where great names in fashion come together! Bargain-hunters will find thousands of items of clothing and fashion accessories from international and Quebec designers, at discounts of 50% and more!

Then, after shopping responsibly, there is a crazy Manhunt!!
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=110060889025734

The hunting season opens May 1st! Run for your... tags? Gather up at the Milton gates 2 hours before the sunset to run, hide and hunt others!
See y'all there!

Then, once our taste of the Wild Hunt for my Beltane Birthday, we can join these fine people for a Nighttime Nature Quest!!

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=105671772809146

An evening of good ol' fun in the sticks!
If Mont-Royal can really be called that..
Bring friends and booze and whatever you feel necessary to embark on a night time escapade in the crackly depths of the urban forest.

We shall meet by the majestic lions(aka Tam-tams spot) around 9pm.

So anyone who wants to find me on my birthday can come intercept me at any of these events. :)

Bring people, as this is a highly-informal, "bring fun people with which to have fun" event. Weather is supposed to be nice now that the Storm of Crows has passed.
