lightcastleAlthough I am saddened to find that someone is doing a Flash Gordon movie (and I doubt very much it will tackle some of the problematic racism in any interesting way), such thoughts always remind me of the gloriously camp 1980 version which has a ridiculously good cast in many supporting roles.

Zogi, the High Priest:
Do you, Ming the Merciless, Ruler of the Universe, take this Earthling Dale Arden, to be your Empress of the Hour?
The Emperor Ming:

Do you promise to use her as you will?
The Emperor Ming:
Certainly!
Zogi, the High Priest:
Not to blast her into space?
[Ming glares at Zogi]

The Emperor Ming: I do.
