Since a major point of me throwing that party is the food, and since I gleefully antagonized Olivia Wood about it, I feel I should list what did show up on the table last night.
- Assorted white and olive breads with a selection of lime pickle chutney, green olive tapenade, caviar d'aubergine, and tomato pesto. (I forgot to put the cheeses out.)
- A mix of spiced olives
- Stuffed vine leaves (which no one saw or opened for some reason)
- Saucisson of wild boar (same)
- Dahl (same)
- Bouchons (constructed as mini-profiterolles) stuffed with either pork and pistachio nuts; salmon, sour cream, and dill; or beets and goat cheese.
- Lasagna with meat sauce (bacon, ground beef, and sausage, I believe)
- Roasted potato salad with tzatziki
- Diced fried potato, eggplant, mushroom, cucumber, and red pepper in fajita seasoning with smoked chipotle peppers in tortilla
- Caviar in celery
- Brown sugar pie or apple pie (both served à-la mode or with whipped cream)
- Profiterolles stuffed with choice of chocolate, vanilla, or peanut butter ice cream with chocolate sauce
Drinks were mostly ginger wine and some gin and tonic
