Laura part 2
Jan. 30th, 2011 01:26 amStill working my way through the old Laura shoot. (I have new shoots coming, promise.)
As always, if you like one, click through to raise its view count. (And there are others at the Flickr page)

Laura part 3
Jan. 30th, 2011 04:28 pmPenultimate set from the Laura shoots of last spring.
Some may remember an earlier post with this. I tweaked the white balance this time, although I do like the much warmer tone from earlier, too. (I'm open to both versions.)

( More under the cut. )

SEO question [Ask the Interwebs]
Jan. 30th, 2011 09:18 pmA question arose in a discussion among friends a week or so ago and I just remembered to ask you people, since I know many of you deal with SEO. When working for Ictus, I had been told that a site that updates, and is not static, is weighted better for SEO, as something live. Thus having a news stream/blog/etc was better. I was recently told by a friend that she was told that was completely wrong and your front page should be static, because otherwise you are just thought of as new pages constantly and your SEO isn't optimal.
Out of curiousity, does anyone know if either of those is true? I recall SEO being full of people making guesses about what works and having all kinds of semi-mystical alchemy, so who knows that the state of the art is. (And for all I know, there is more than one perfectly acceptable method).

It's a Jimi Hendrix quote and I got the photo and quote from Feministing here. (They got it from somewhere else still.)
I actually don't have high hopes for the uprisings going on right now in the Middle East, but then I am a cynical person. I really hope something good comes out of them, but I fear a repeat of Tienanmen Square, the moment the Army sides with the people, bring in more Army people from further away who won't sympathize.
I will be exceedingly happy to be wrong.
