The attitude that women don't belong in the sciences has not gone away, and while I am sometimes surprised how few of the women I know personally are in the sciences given my proclivities, that attitude gets pushed back against every day by them and more like them, to the betterment of the world.
Today we remember all the uppity women who make the world better - in science, in arts, in government, in homes - and honour those who have been struck by violence directed against them solely for the crime of being who they are.
