Comedy, parties, and stuffed noses

lightcastleThe weekend was ok, although the cold I have been fighting has launched a final desperation assault upon my head and lymph nodes.
Comedy went quite well both Friday and Saturday. I am increasingly depressed by the proportion of rape jokes among my fellow comedians though. I am somewhat happy that they seem to not be getting great reactions from the crowd. That gives me some hope.
Red Sam's farewell party was delightful, as any party where I know next to no one but end up in an hour and a half conversation about economic theory with an economics major, have a hallway party discussion about the usefulness of identity politics, line up a makeup artist for my photography (one who will work time for print no less), and there is an in-house band is a good party.
Saturday's comedy even involved said economics major showing up and bringing her friend with the fabulous horned hat. Her other friend might do some comedy work herself next week, which is a goodness. I did sadly reduce someone in the audience to tears with an offhand reference in my act to once having a girlfriend in California, though.
lucidite and people who have no LJs showed up as well, which is always a plus.
Then there was a birthday party at Hatters and it is nice to know that the Goddess of Barroom Pool remains kind to me there, as I ran 3 or 4 wins off the table in which I was clearly outplayed but fluked my way to victory. misskitty_79 time is also always for the good in my eyes.
