Of Birthday Meanders
The rain kept many people away. Well, that and lucidite's party, I suspect.
Sultrysong took me to see Jesus Christ Superstar starring the guy who was Jesus in the movie back in 1973. The sound was off and you couldn't understand most of what anyone was saying. Jesus as an old man was kind of weird, especially since so much of the music involves him shrieking like early-70's rock so often does. He didn't have the chops for it and it was just weird.
I then went on to the Milton gates for Manhunt, which was rayaluna's idea. I was the first hunter, seeing as it was a birthday present. Running through the McGill ghetto was fun, as so many people were moving in and there was security everywhere due to the various anarchist demonstrations. There were two rounds, and it was nice to be chased.
I went back to E__'s to shower and change for the nature walk, and was greeted by Red Riding Hood, a Gypsy Fortuneteller, and a Vampirate who made me tea. We lost the Gypsy on the way to the park, and on the bus ride over, the other two succeeded in scandalizing the passengers. The Vampirate even had to confront a man who was trying to take pictures with his cellphone unasked.
At the mountain there was rum-in-tea, hiking in the dark, and finally a picnic on the rocks overlooking the city.
All in all, it aggressively failed to suck, even if there were some surprising lacunae in who showed and/or sent birthday wishes.
