Strung it to the wired internet, downloaded ndiswrapper (which for some reason I didn't already have), pulled the driver off the CD that came with the dongle, and got the driver to work.
Then I rebooted.
Works now.
One day I should learn how Linux works so I can do these things properly.
I should also start looking into a more permanent phone solution and how to get American calls not long distance for my friends. (Sadly, Google voice won't even let me sign in with my invite because they don't work in Canada.)
