Linux Wireless (and the lack thereof)
So since I'm not likely to have my own place anytime soon, I picked up a wireless USB dongle since it worked so well for me last time.
Of course, I forgot the cardinal rule of Linux - if you didn't research it for three weeks first, it doesn't work. I can't find the one hypatia/secretsoflife recommended to me before (and which worked fine in Boston) and so bought the only one they had at FutureShop.
I can't seem to find any evidence that the Comstar Wireless N Usb Adapter will work (or even, you know, exists) and that would be if I can remember how I got the other one working the first time.
It does work for Windows Vista perfectly, of course.
(It might secretly be a Realtek RTL8192U)
