Work, clothes, and appropriation
First - Seems that the endless snag to get the legal papers in order for PTSD.org to become a real job are continuing. Very frustrating.
Second - A shame that the only thing business-like about me is how hot I look in a suit.
Third - A friend of mine has become enmeshed in the old cultural appropriation debate. As many of you know, I firmly believe that we wouldn't HAVE human culture if we didn't borrow/steal/appropriate from each other all the time. At the same time, I cannot ignore the douchebaggotry of things like hipsters all excited to "play Indian" with their fashion. My current theory is primarily that if your explanation when called out is "shut up! It's fun fashion things!" then you are a douchebag and should be shunned. Outside of that clear line, I don't have a good explanation of why some things piss me off than others other than they are twigging some instinctive line of respect and power dynamics that makes me irritable.
