I'm sure most of you have already heard Whoopi Goldberg's explanation on the View how Roman Polanski didn't commit "rape-rape".

In a discussion at Sociological Images, Craig offered a comment I think points to what is driving a lot of the Hollywood reaction.

But at least it wasn’t “rape rape.” “Rape rape” is when you know the _victim_, not the _perpetrator._
