I didn't post about it earlier due to the computer problems, but I adored the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games.
As pointed out here, it hinged on that fine Canadian trait - the
ability to make fun of ourselves.
The sweaters were awesome, and despite what the article says, I thought the zorbs were great fun and want one for home.
Also please note that most people I know thought the
Gold-medal celebration was perfectly fine. (I thought boston.com had the
best collection of Getty pics of the event. They just won a gold medal, why shouldn't they drink and smoke cigars on the rink.
